Re: Pets
Thank you all for your kind comments, yes we do miss her especially when we have been out and she is not there to greet us with her tail wagging non stop. She was with us for nearly nine years, sadly she lost her sight during the last four months when she changed from a happy spirited Springer to being very subdued always wanting to be beside me. Sadly she was a very sick dog towards the end what with being blind her liver wasn't working and her blood would not clot following another collision with the garden seat. This all become apparent after the Vet had done a number of tests.
We watched Gardeners World and Monty Don the other night and he spoke about his dogs and said not only was he responsible for their life but also for their end. They are my sentiments, however it must be one of the hardest decisions I have had to make after advice from the Vet.
I like to think this is what our Abbey would have said to us.

Re: Pets
That's a lovely verse, SB. Sad but so true, no matter what the pet that has been loved and has reciprocated that love.

Freddie has done this a lot - cleaning his 'snip' wound - since he came back from the vets this afternoon.

Re: Pets
Very sorry to read that news SB. Dogs are such good company. I hope once the pain wears away a bit you might feel like getting another, it will never be the same but is bound to bring you just as much happiness in a different way.Suffolkboy wrote:Thank you all for your kind comments, yes we do miss her especially when we have been out and she is not there to greet us with her tail wagging non stop. Re: Pets
I posted a photo of Tilly and Ellie some time ago, since then we've had an addition to the family. Molly, a Shih Tzu puppy, arrived a few weeks ago and is settling in fine. At the moment the only problem is she has a loud bark for a little lady, especially at three in the morning.
If it were not for Thomas Edison, we would all be watching television in the dark.
