That is exactly what I thought BB,I have never seen anything like it other than a half ripe strawberry and of course the photo of the Pine cone I painted.Haven't been able to find anything like it online.boatbuilder wrote:Suffolkboy wrote:That looks like an unripe strawberry to me SB,

Re: From Our Easels
I guess it wasn't from a photo you took SB so maybe it was published with the wrong information. I just Googled 'white pine cone images' and got nothing that resembled that.

The more I see of your pictures SB, the more I think it's a gift rather than something which one can learn from scratch.Suffolkboy wrote:Thanks Fc and BB. Just remembered I painted Cherries and a Pine cone which I didn't know existed.

Re: From Our Easels
Well now we know Mel.
There is one other thing I have just thought of. When I used to buy fruit for the Co-op for the jam factory in Stockport in the 1980's, the strawberries for the standard jams were preserved in a sulphur-dioxide solution (SO2) during the strawberry season which 'bleached' the strawberries white like the one in the picture, but without the hulls. When the jam was produced, the SO2 boiled off and the red colour returned to the fruit.

Re: From Our Easels
More excellent work, SB. Is the portrait the judge on the left off 'Strictly' (don't know his name)?

I just love it when someone recognizes what I have tried to convey.
