Apparently, Polyfilla is an acceptable alternative.

Got told today when I signed on that there is going to be a new poundstretcher opening in Lowestoft. Anyone know where it is going to be?

I can't help you on the location James, but here is a jobs notice for it on their website.

Maybe on the BandQ site or there is another set of units supposed to be going up on the opposite side of the road near the roundabout or what about the long awaited for one at pakefield ?? Not sure haven't heard more than that. But if the job centre knows there's a new one going up they should know where Mind you I think we ve got more than enough personally

Might add, although I didn't want the post office to move I have to say it's much better than I thought it was going to be in WHS

Have been into WH Smith's and seen the new post office and it looks very smart, haven't used it yet and don't know what it is like when busy...it was very quiet the day I popped in. But like you Funkychick I didn't want it to move (still would like it to have stayed where it was, mainly for the sake of the old building) but was impressed with the new layout in WH Smith.

Just noticed activity in the old QD Store - the electricians are in - heavy duty wires are coming from the ceiling at various points. Couldn't see any info on doors/windows.

Well, QD did quietly announce they were opening a new store in Lowestoft in time for Christmas - I guess they're moving back into their old place. That is, unless this is for Poundland.

New hairdressing training academy open in Kirkley.

New Lowestoft hair and beauty academy to be a cut above the rest

An inspirational young entrepreneur who built up a business from scratch as a teenager is help train the next generation of hair and beauty technicians after launching a new academy. Millie Rose Stammers started her own business four-and-a-half years ago, when she was just 19. The 23-year-old has since grown the salon into a luxury beauty boutique in London Road South, Kirkley, with seven hairdressing stations, three treatment rooms and a team of 13. And now, Miss Stammers has returned to the site of her first salon – also in London Road South – to start a new academy training hair and beauty specialists across Waveney. Salons in Lowestoft and Waveney have agreed to send their trainees to Industry Hair and Beauty Academy (IHBA) at no cost to them, as Miss Stammers has secured help from the government’s Skills Funding Agency.

There has been a lot of work done to the shop at the end of the Britten Centre next to the coffee shop. Does anyone know what is going into it. Strangely there are two up and over garage type doors at the front.

I don't know what it will be, but I presume the doors are security shutters that will be used for protection at night-time to protect glass windows.

My wife was informed that it will be a fruit and veg shop. What I would have called a green grocer.

The fruit n veg market stall will not be happy! That is, unless it's actually them moving in.
