I didn't Frankiesays the reason being it was such a great bit of useless information that I would have been disappointed if it had been wrong :)

The first vasectomy took place in 1899, the first vasectomy on a man that is - the first actual vasectomy operation was performed on a dog in 1823.

Although using binary you lose the palindromic effect of the numbers Boatbuilder. I have never understood binary numbers, I got as far as long division in maths at school and then everything went over my head. But I have found this Binary Card Magic Trick which was quite interesting.

Shuttlecocks used in professional badminton are made of feathers from the left wing of a goose. Feathers from the right wing will make them spin the wrong way.

Does that mean if they were made from an equal amount of feathers from each wing then they wouldn't spin at all?

I wouldn't have a clue! I only supply the info - and, fortunately, don't have to explain it! FYI The source was the Beeb's "QI" programme and good old Wikipedia. :D

Netflix has created socks that pause the show you’re watching if you fall asleep.

I've ordered a pair!

I'm hoping that they will work if you nod off (not that I do!) whilst watching any channel.

Surely it would better if they gave you a 'short sharp shock' to wake you up so you could finish watching what you started. Image
