He turned up today.
I personally think the police and papers release their information too soon. Many kids run away from home as part of a growing up process, normally just staying overnight round a friends. I know I did as a teenager, being 'found' 6 hours later. There never used to be such a fuss made in such as short amount of time.

If the Police didn't make an appeal and something DID happen to the child they would come in for untold criticism for doing nothing. They have to take into account numerous factors when deciding what action to take which we don't necessarily get to hear about.
