Re: General Chat Topic

Latest post of the previous page:

I have just been looking online at a house for sale along my road of identical build to my own. The are a fair few images of the house interior and a few of the exterior (front and back). The only image which appears to be a true representation of the house is the one taken from the road of the front of the property. All the other images of the interior and rear garden are totally mis-represented. Why? Because they have all been deliberately s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d horizontally in a resizing app to give the distinct visual impression that the rooms and rear garden are bigger than they actually are. My initial thought was that they had used a wide-angle lens to fit more of the room or garden into the image, but it was the picture which showed the front door and downstairs toilet that made it obvious that wasn't the case. The front door is about 25% wider than the doors are in relation to the height of the door in the image.

Personally, I don't believe this should be allowed.

Maybe it contravenes the Trades Description Act? I saw a house I know up for sale, and the picture had the parking space in the front garden twice as big as it was in reality!!

I had similar issues many years ago when looking at estate agent adverts, and their response was that these were just guides, and not meant to be taken literally. I wasn't impressed. In my case, a property was shown as coming with a garage, but it turned out the garage was not part of the actual deal.

Having just read this, I am starting to wonder if we are now living in a 'third-world' country. This is so despicable, I can't find any other words to describe my feelings.

I read that too,the NHS is well & truly broken ,getttting rid of a few managers highiy paid & give the workers the pay they deserve would go a long way to help.

Maybe they’ve finished for Christmas already, as you say. I don’t look at it every day so hadn’t noticed. Or then maybe they've joined the rest of the country in striking. :D

I think somebody near me has got their days mixed up. About half an hour or so ago, they were setting off fireworks.

Thoughts are with Alice, the founder of MyLowestoft, whose mother passed away yesterday.

Charity collectors from the foreign lands of Norfolk have become rather more aggressive of late...

Very thoughtless of her, kerch. Hope you recover soon.

The following is from a search I just made:
Should I stay away from people if I have bronchitis?
Acute bronchitis is caused by the same viruses that cause the common cold and the flu. Just like the common cold, the virus spreads through droplets in the air. If you have acute bronchitis, avoid being in close contact with other people, or you may infect them.
