With the current high rates of infection in much of the UK and the fact that it is now not mandatory to self isolate in England, I think masks should still be mandatory in all public indoor places.

The convid figures have gone up here too so I won't be giving up my mask soon about the only place I don't use my mask outdoors is walking in the countyside , it's rare to see many people where I walk .

Had a break away from here for around 6 weeks I think. Started off as busy with work, and then Covid struck. All better now - I think - but the first few days were lost to fever. Stayed on isolation for the full 11 days as kept on testing positive, which was annoying. Tiredness is affecting me, and am going to bed most afternoons for a few hours. This may or may not be what they call Long Covid, I don't like to name it as such without being sure. Still, at least I survived, thanks most likely to the the two vaccine shots plus booster. I imagine most people will eventually get it at some point, much like chicken pox.

A member of a literary forum I use, has just posted the following:
The following notice has been put up in the window of a café not far from me:
Due to the current health concerns, we are requesting our wonderful customers to AVOID accompanying their dogs in these premises.

In Toronto (province Ontario), I still wear my mask on the bus...it is not mandatory but highly recommended. They say we are in the seventh wave with a variant driving this uptick. Also the monkey pox is another one to deal with, it is spreading quite fast too. So far I have not gotten covid (knock on wood) but i still need to get my 2nd booster shot.

I continue to wear my mask in enclosed public spaces (shops, etc.,) I don't use public transport. I hope you continue to avoid catching it as well, Anjalli.

Cases appear to be falling again here. We now have to wait for figures to be released just once a week, on a Wednesday, to see what the trend is - and a lot can change in a week.

Thank you Boatbuilder, I am ok....just a little bit of tenderness around the needle prick area. I am glad that is over and done with.

Good to hear it's nothing more than that Anjalli. You said it was your second booster, does that mean it's your third dose?
