Baking or cooking
I have just put a loaf (dough) into the oven to cook off... This little beauty swelled up a treat and I have only proved it the once as I don't want to tempt fate.
Same mix as the last house brick but this one is looking good.
so that's put the kybosh on it being a good bread then hasn't it
I'll pop a picture on IF it turns out OK
EDIT: as promised

I agree with BB - and, as long as it tastes OK, that's all that matters. As long as she enjoys doing it - and receives encouragement she'll soon get to grips with it. Re: Baking or cooking
This isn't baking or cooking! It's just what I had for lunch today - had some 'wafer-thin" ham to use up - so decided to have an indoor picnic! Popped into Tesco - and got some plain crisps, and saw a "Crustless Cheese (Red Leicester) & Bacon Quiche" - it's just on a shortcrust pastry base and very nice it was too. Made up a ham sandwich with wholewheat bread - and quartered. So all-in-all - a nice picnic! Will have to do it a bit more often.

A pack of 6 part baked rolls by Paul Hollywood [from Morrisons etc.] place all or some on a baking tray in the oven for 8 mins. For extra crusty sprinkle with water first. Delish!!

Re: Baking or cooking
Next time I am in Morrisons I will look out for them Meryl as I love bread. My wife got a very nice loaf from the Co-Op last week; a cheese and onion loaf, it was superb, spread with thick butter...scrumptious

I like the Aldi part-baked rolls and often use them as an emergency for the kids school lunches but I'll give the Morrisons ones a try in case they are better.

Yes, those from Aldi are nice Frankie, I bought some of their Stone Oven Baked ones - Pack of 8 'Petite Paines Graines' for 99p and froze down the ones we didn't use straight away. Go well with Minestrone soup.

I would welcome any unusual recipes using a slow cooker ( now chaps I know I'm asking for trouble, I really don't want to know how to boil my shoes, or cook my hat..honest )

Re: Baking or cooking
This may not be unusual Sheila but it is my own recipe for a Bolognese sauce which I make in a small slow cooker. It should serve four (depending on your appetite ) - I usually freeze half down as there are only two of us. The nutritional (calorie) information is only a guide. Sometimes I might also add a few sliced mushrooms and/or some diced red pepper.

Here's my recipe .... get ingredients peel or chop to desired size, throw in slow cooker and eat hours later

So far I am the only one who has given Sheila a sensible answer.
