I have just bought a bottle of white wine from my local Co-op and on reading the label on the reverse was a little puzzled by the statement that it contained egg and milk. I have never seen that before on any wine I have bought - they usually just say 'contains sulphites' - so I just did a quick search and came up with the following:

Having made wine myself in the past, I was fully aware of isinglass being used for clarification of the wine but never egg or casein (a milk by-product).
Having looked a bit further, I then came across this link with reference to Australia (the source of my wine) where the regulations of their Foods Standards Agency now treat wine as a food as far as health and safety are concerned - hence the declaration.
