Latest post of the previous page:

Home-made pork casserole which I put in the slow-cooker earlier, with potatoes and dwarf beans. It won't be ready until about 6-30 though as I nearly forgot to do it as I was watching the Remembrance Service on TV.

I do like sausages, especially with a big fried breakfast and luckily I like mine well done. That report says only one in ten sausages could be infected...I only buy packs of eight so I am alright ;) :)

But you might have all 8 from a batch of 80 that DO have it, Mel. :D However the real problem may not be just the sausage but the 'big fried breakfast'.

Oh no, I didn't think of that Boatbuilder...but it won't put me off :) The big fried breakfast is only a once a week treat, most weeks that is, sometimes it may be more than once :) cook1

Today is Veteran's Day and a lot of restaurants are giving veterans ,free food.We went to Texas Roadhouse where Bob got a free meal of salad, pork chop, mashed potatoes and rolls(there were ten different meals to chose from).I had to buy my meal but I love their steaks(no fat or gristle ever) and it's my favorite place to eat.

I find most of the pot noodles I have tried pretty lousy but the curry ones are usually pretty OK for me but I can understand anybody who gives them a wide berth.

Bought this chicken dish @ M&S yesterday - “Butter Chicken” - “A rich, mild curry made with pieces of marinaded chargrilled chicken breast, cream, butter & honey.” I had that with Basmati rice - very nice indeed! It is very mild - when I next have it, methinks I’ll add pinch of Curry powder for extra oomph!

I tried a TV chef's tip yesterday. It was to peel sprouts in the usual way [halve them if they are big] Place in a saucepan with a little water and a good knob of butter, put on the lid and cook . Not too long as they will boil dry. A great improvement on the "boiled to death" ones.
