Landscapes & Waterscapes
My wife and I are currently visiting our daughter and her family in Lancashire and we spent an enjoyable afternoon on Saturday at Hollingworth Country Park at the north end of Greater Manchester near the Lancashire/West Yorkshire border. Here are some pictures of this beautiful spot alongside Hollingworth Lake Reservoir nestled in the Pennines.

Looks a nice area BB with plenty of water fowl, always like to see a piece of water which gets me wondering what I may catch if I dangled a baited hook in the depths.Hope you are all having a good holiday.

Re: Landscapes & Waterscapes
Many thanks for your comments. The weather cleared up as we were there as you can see from the pictures below which were taken shortly after arriving when there was more cloud about.
The second and third pictures show the M62 Flyover which is about a mile from where I was stood.

Just got back from Newcastle, sadly I wasn't on holiday so I didn't do much sight seeing but I did manage to get a picture of The Sage Gateshead (music venue) as it was situated just across the river Tyne from our hotel...

Re: Landscapes & Waterscapes
My early morning walk with Abbey (6.00am) takes me around the Hurst Farm lakes which allows me to take in the beauty of the water reflections before the wind increases which it did most days, also I am able to see where the fish are more active so allowing us to pick a good spot with enhanced chances of a good catch - well that is SWMBO.

I'm glad you made that final comment SB, or I might have been tempted to say something. :lol;Suffolkboy wrote:...... I am able to see where the fish are more active so allowing us to pick a good spot with enhanced chances of a good catch - well that is SWMBO.

From the summit of the Woodhead Pass - Peak District National Park, taken today. I have driven over here dozens of times but this was the first time I have ever stopped at the summit.

Re: Landscapes & Waterscapes
These pictures were taken today on my journey back from Lancashire. Again from the Woodhead Pass looking mostly north.
The first picture is the full frame image resized to approx one-third size (1920 x 1280 pixels) for posting. The tallest structure in the UK - the Emley Moor Transmitter, which is 1084 feet high and is a Grade II listed building can be seen and is about 10 miles away to the north-east.
The second image is a crop from the above image at full resolution.
The third image was taken with the panorama mode but resized to half size (4096 x 928 pixels) for posting.
