It's surprising how cameras can exaggerate light by adjusting the aperture/speed. etc., A bit like on TV when they stop cricket matches for 'bad light' and on the TV it looks perfectly OK.

Yes most have taken ,now further down the canal more trees are being cut .

The canal has been drained yet again ,not necessarily for work on the stretch that passes through the village .Could be anywhere between Villeneuve and the Port of Béziers.

Not sure of the depth but not more 2mts in the centre,as you know hire boats do n't need a great depth.

Obviously you can't see the bottom in the centre but what you can see doesn't look as though it could go to a depth of more than a couple of feet each side of the water that is there now. .
