I was expecting to see a few people in the water with the boat heading off into the distance. they've obviously done that manoeuvre a few times before.
It's grim up North...

Unsure where that bridge could be,however I see it has LT on the side so perhaps someone could enlighten me. UK1 8-)

SB, did you not see the last post on the previous page? It states "Tight fit, Capestang, Canal Du Midi 2011" which is in France.

Also, the letters on the boat are 'LY' not 'LT'.

Another moment BB :oops: No I did not see the previous page,then I should have known it was not a UK canal boat,then I suppose the LT threw me. Oh dear,another trip to SPEC SAVERS.

That bridge is the lowest on the Canal du Midi and all the hire boats are built with that bridge in mind ,the next lowest is just before Adge direction the Etang du Thau.

I think the lowest in the broads would be Potter Heigham, except for the bridges that you can't navigate beneath that is.

This week-end there's a Tall Ships event at the port of Sete ,the two Russian training ships arrived yesterday and there's at least 100 historic ship expected .I would like to go but not a lot of chance of that . sadface4

No those ones are safe ,that side of the canal there's nothing but houses so boaters in search of shopping do n't tie up there .One theory is the fungi that kills the trees is transported by the ropes ,tying up to an affected tree and later tying up to a healthy tree and pass on the fungi by doing so .Also that side of the canal has steeper banks almost the whole length of it except where the tow path switches sides . boat1
