Nice skies...i see ours like that in the spring and summer...in the fall/winter time it is mostly gray or cloudy but sometimes we will get some blue ones.

Thanks Anjalli. Those red skies don't seem to last very long at this time of year, I could quite easily have missed it.

Tonight there was a first-quarter moon and after having noticed it coming home from the local shop a break in the clouds around 7-25pm gave me the opportunity to get this picture.

It's the first quarter moon at 1:22 AM UTC tomorrow, this was taken about ten minutes ago - about 4.5 hours before.

The angle is a bit different from the picture above, taken last month.

A couple of days ago I was awake rather early and looked at the Gull Wing Bridge live stream on my iPad shortly after the sun had risen. These are some of the screenshots I took, including one of a vessel entering the inner harbour through the bascule bridge, and one after it had turned before it moored near the grain silo.

About a week ago there was a 'rare' monthly 'blue moon' - know by that name as it is not very often a full moon occurs twice within a month. That is believed to be where the saying 'Once in a blue moon' comes from - meaning a rare occurrence. However, the moon on that last occasion didn't look blue at all, but it did at about 9-am this morning! :D
