Re: Macro and Close-up Photography
I went into my dining room a short time ago, where the door into the garden had been open all evening, and noticed a type of moth, high up on the wall, that I don't recall ever seeing before, and so I took this picture.
It turns out to be a Boxtree Moth (Cydalima perspectalis) which has only been in this country since 2008. Apparently it is native to Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea, far-east Russia and India, and was first recorded in Europe, in Germany, in 2006 - or as Wikipedia puts it "Invaded Europe".
After taking the picture I caught it and released it outside.
