News to me too Frankiesays. Next time I pass that way I shall think of your dad and all the work that went on there. People would run a mile if anyone asked them to start a job like that today just by hand....I would too, I think ;) :)

They worked very hard and very inefficiently back then. I used to go out with my dad in his lorry in the school holidays and one Saturday morning I sat in the cab of his lorry while he loaded it with 10 cubic yards of sugar beet with a garden fork and then took it to Cantley. A whole morning's work for one load. I decided then that maybe this job wasn't for me after all.
It's grim up North...

Currently in our Top 10 charts, although banned from being played on all BBC radio stations and most commercial stations. Think it's like marmite, love it or hate it!

Here are a couple of 40x slow-motion videos I took yesterday of bees. These are the best ones (but not as good as I would have liked) of quite a number that I attempted but the bees don't give you a lot of time to get the camera into operation. I'll just have to keep trying. :D

Note -they do eventually fly.......

This one was 1.75 seconds 'real time'

That's about the speed I move in the morning, boatbuilder, well done.
If it were not for Thomas Edison, we would all be watching television in the dark.

Thanks Dave, but remind me never to take a 'slo-mo' video of you in the morning, otherwise there definitely won't be any action in it. :D

Some clips I took yesterday which I have edited into a three minute movie with music soundtrack. About 4.4 seconds real-time.

Accompanying music: 'The Watermill' by Ronald Binge. - Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, conductor Ernest Tomlinson.

This is a short (30 second) 4K video shot at normal speed, of a bee flying between the cone flowers - plus another very brief visitor.

Check video setting for 4K

Think it was last year (23/5/16 actually!) that I posted a Youtube link in the May Chat pages, to an orchestral arrangement of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" for Symphony Orchestra and Solo Viola - The Studio Recording: "To Freddie with much love and admiration."
I have just come across the same work beautifully played: 'String & Piano Cover - Brooklyn Duo featuring the Dover Quartet":
