Watching the evening news on BBC, the reporter said Mrs May had returned from Brussels after asking the EU to 'Give me more time'. It immediately reminded me of this song I have on an album by the German 1982 Eurovision winner 'Nicole'.

I wonder if Mrs May sang it to Frau Merkel. :D

Whilst going through some of my files stored on DVD last night I came across this one I took in 2012 when the Tour of Britain passed through Lowestoft. I had to convert it from its original format to Mp4 before I could put it on YouTube so added the titles at the same time.
The original file was over 1-GB in size but Youtube compressed it to about an eighth of the size.

A Mayday video from 1959 filmed in Standon village, my home for nearly 30 years.

I saw this story on Breakfast TV this morning, it has a character in it that all Lowestoftians are familiar with.

Sounds like you have lived where you are now for about the same length of time that I have lived where I live now. Did you by any chance move there on the 30th April/1st May 1990? Now that WOULD be a coincidence! :D

I wonder if any of the people in the video still live there, Dave.

This video isn't from YouTube but was shared on Facebook. It's of a Moose trying to get her baby to cross the road, somewhere in Sweden, and is certainly worth a view. :D

The video, which lasts 1-min.47-secs., can be downloaded from this link and either saved or played directly from the download.

I've only just spotted this post, boatbuilder, but better late than never. I moved to Standon about December 1992 although I did a lot of visiting beforehand.

A short video of some tiny flying insects and a bee 'enjoying' the flowers in the garden, filmed in 4K.

I don't know if this idea is being put into practice, the video is at least two years old, but we've got some potholes at the bottom of our road that might benefit from some plastic patchwork.

I found this comment on the video's page quite interesting, especially in the light of publicity that has led to the removal of plastic microbeads from things like some toothpastes, cosmetics, etc.
A very significant downside of using this will be that as friction removes material from the roads in very small pieces, you will have a steady stream of microplastics entering the environment.
This could significantly increase the plastic pollution if done on a large scale. But since there are no technical details in the video it is hard to say with any degree of certainty.

This video should interest anyone who worked for Eastern Coach Works, they might even see some old friends.

This video must have taken ages to complete, it was worth it though.
