Things like that were probably happening around you – but there was no particular reason to remember them – they were just every day occurrences. For this programme they were not in a “home environment” – they were in a large, open “play” area and just left to their own devices and play with children of their own age – and to be themselves. Obviously they were being observed and help was at hand if needed.

The programme is available on the Channel 4 “catch up” service and it was the first in a series of four – and they all four-years-old. The other programmes also feature five-and-six year olds.

Maybe you didn't smell nice when you got home from sea, nikkai! - You know, all that engine oil.

Best you have a word with the wife as *she liked the sea/oil smell* I will not go into how much she liked that smell but to say I was made very welcome and happy when the work gear came out the bags.... :o

It's not 'the wife' who I was thinking of it was the daughter, as the article was referring to children, nikkai.

True but the wife came to mind with the mention of the smell.
I still can't remember the children growing up and being that far forward when they were 4 or even 5 years old.
I do remember a son putting on a pair of my old overalls but that was when he was around 8 or 9

I just watched Jeremy Clarkson & Co's Grand Tour on Amazon. Very good, lots of over acting and not a lot of people's cup of tea but I enjoyed it.

Can't stand those three (especially the leader of the pack) with their over-inflated egos.

Is that how much it cost to make??? Blimey, they said the intro cost £2.5m. Must be a big culture change from the BBC.

Thoroughly enjoyed last night’s opening programme in the series “Who Do You Think You Are” featuring actor Danny Dyer (EastEnders).

“Why Danny Dyer’s right royal “Who do you think you are?” is the best one EVER”
*** Contains Spoilers! ***http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2016-11- ... t-one-ever

I agree with that! Some other headlines for this episode:

“EastEnders Danny Dyer has viewers in hysterics as he traces his ancestors” – The Mirror
“Who do you think you are?” review – arise, King Danny Dyer” – The Guardian
“Viewers call Danny Dyer “Who do you think you are?” episode the best ever” Daily Mail

I wouldn't have said the best ever, but certainly among the best I have seen

Seems like it may go to his head though, and I don't mean the crown. :D

I'm looking forward to 'Taboo' tonight, starring Tom Hardy. It's set in 1814 London and is created by Hardy, his dad and 'Peaky Blinders' writer, Steven Knight. It also has Ridley Scott, of 'Gladiator' fame, as executive producer. I wondered why Hardy, a star of every film he's in, is in a TV programme, but with a pedigree like this it's not surprising. I've always enjoyed period drama since I was a child and have never tired of it, so it's feet up in front of the telly tonight.
If it were not for Thomas Edison, we would all be watching television in the dark.
