Latest post of the previous page:

I've just been watching a wonderful tribute to flautist Sir James Galway, who is 80 today, on BBC4.

It's certainly worth a watch on iPlayer if you never saw it.

I watched a series of three programmes this week on BBC4 entitled 'The Prosecutors - Real Crime and Punishment', which I found extremely interesting. They were about the workings of the Crown Prosecution Service. It had been aired four years ago but I never saw it then, so was pleased to spot it on this run.

They are available on iPlayer for about four weeks at this link, and well worth a watch if you haven't seen them:

Watched the first episode of Winterwatch yesterday evening; in my opinion, too much 'Climate Change' lecturing.

Who remembers 'Van Der Valk' in the 1970's?

I have just discovered that ITV are starting to air a new series of the drama on Sunday 26th April (8-pm). The title role is being played by Marc Warren. I hope he is as good as the late Barry Foster was in the original series. According to IMDB there only appears to be three programs in this series, unless they all haven't been listed on there as yet. They are two-hour programs and I am looking forward to watching them.

I can remember the programme being on but I never ever watched it. But I will watch this series when it starts; ITV often gives us an interesting detectives...but they also give us too many adverts!!

Watched a couple of good programmes on BBC4 last night. Both documentaries about singers. Meatloaf and Eric Burdon who was lead singer with the Animals. I found out that Meatloaf had a not very happy childhood and a roller coaster of a career; and I also found out why Eric Burdon and Alan Price (former member of the Animals) are not the best of mates! Two hours of entertaining TV.

Whilst you were watching those, Mel, I was watching 'Kate Humble's Coastal Walks' on Channel 5. This episode saw her walking thirteen miles along the Suffolk coast from Dunwich through Walberswick, Southwold, Easton Bavents and finishing at St Andrew's church in Covehithe. A very interesting program which I thought you might have been watching it as well.

This was followed by a program with Gregg Wallace in Venice, another good one. One of the foods he tried was Sea Bass baked inside what I describe as a 'shell' of sea salt. This reminded me of when I used to travel to Seville each year in the mid-late '80s and where I tried the same dish which was exactly as Gregg described it - 'delicious and just melts in the mouth'.

A new series of ten documentary programs following the Suffolk Police 'Sentinel' teams starts tomorrow (Sunday 18th) at 6-pm on 'Dave' TV channel (Sky 111, Freeview 19). Could be interesting so have set the recorder.
