When this picture was taken at today's Garden Party at the Palace, the Prince of Wales was reported to be saying 'Well I only really use this when I'm caught short', which obviously amused his new daughter-in-law.

I was merely thinking back to the ‘days of yore’ when the loo was outside (but did have a roof and a door - of the ventilated variety!) and evening visits necessitated a ‘guiding light’ plus, in winter, a least a coat on a cold or wet night. Ah yes – the ‘good old days”!
