Cats Protection Anglia Coastal Branch

Post by LorraineG » Fri Feb 17, 2017 5:53 pm

The Anglia Coastal Branch is a branch of the national feline welfare charity, Cats Protection. The Anglia Coastal Branch of Cats Protection was formed in 2015. We are a group of enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about cats and their welfare. We operate within the NR30-35 postcode areas (although cats can be rehomed outside of these areas).

The vision of Cats Protection is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of their needs.

Our volunteers work as a team:-
  • to find good homes for cats in need
to support and encourage the neutering of cats
to improve people's understanding of cats and their care through education and advice
to trap, neuter & return feral cats in order to reduce disease and breeding

Snip & Chip only £10 - 1st March 2017

Post by LorraineG » Fri Feb 17, 2017 6:14 pm

To commemorate World Spay Day, on 1st March 2017, in conjunction with the RSPCA Suffolk East Coast Branch we will be holding a Snip & Chip event. For only £10 per cat, anyone who lives within NR30-35 postcodes and is in receipt of any income-based benefit [proof will be required] is invited to attend [no appointment necessary] between 1100 - 1300 hours at Whitton Residents Community Hall, Hawthorn Avenue, Lowestoft, NR33 9BB. We will microchip your cat(s) and provide a voucher to allow you to get your cat(s) neutered at either Coastline Veterinary Surgery or the Veterinary Hospital for no further charge.

68% of litters of kittens in the UK are unplanned so we recommend cats are neutered from four months old. Cats that are neutered lead happier, healthier lives and are less likely to spray, roam or fight. Neutering also helps guard against disease and unwanted kittens. Microchipping of course means that should your puss still wander, the likelihood of being reunited is greatly increased.

Unwanted Towels, Blankets etc.

Post by LorraineG » Sat Feb 18, 2017 11:34 am

If anyone has old towels, bath mats, blankets, fleece material/blankets or clean, non-feather duvets they no longer want - we would love to have them for use with our cats. We will arrange to collect them at a time suited to yourself. Thank you.

He is not grounded in his cage - that was just used to catch him but it might be a little while before he is allowed outside again.

I didn't think it was in his cage, that would've been cruel. I just meant with the cat flap locked - if he has one of course. .

STORAGE SPACE NEEDED

Does anyone have an unused DRY garage that Cats Protection Anglia Coastal could use for storage? Our volunteers' houses are full of donated food and items for fundraising tombolas and it would be lovely if we could find somewhere to use as a temporary store (Can be vacated whenever necessary). If you can help - please message me.

Stalls at Events

Post by LorraineG » Sat Mar 11, 2017 11:38 pm

If anyone is organising an event i.e. indoor fayre, outdoor fete etc. and would be prepared to 'donate a stall' to Cats Protection Anglia Coastal - we would love to attend. We welcome opportunities to promote our work, attract new volunteers and raise much needed funds by the sale of our Logo goods and/or by running a Tombola stall. Please email me on cpac@gmx.co.uk - thank you.
