The IOM TT Races seems to claim lives every year. I believe there were five fatalities last year. But the riders and competitors of the circuit know the risks involved; speed and danger is the nature of their sport so they are prepared to take the risk. Having done a lap of the course myself I can understand the uniqueness of the racing and take my hat off to the riders.

By the way, I done my lap of the course sitting on a tourist bus ;) :)

What a finish to the Scotland v England World Cup Qualifier! England 1-0 up with a few minutes of normal time remaining then Scotland gaining two free kicks about 6 yards or so outside the penalty box within a couple of minutes of each other - and scoring directly from both of them to lead 2-1. But not all over with Harry Kane scoring an equaliser for England with two and a half minutes of the four minutes of added on time gone. Final Score: 2-2.

Nerve racking to watch bb but not a great game . The Scott was given space to put the ball in the net twice and he did it perfectly. Chamberlains goal was very good and he was persistent in dribbling through that crowded penalty area and driving it to the goal at power. No blame on the goalkeeper. Our final goal also was very good the opportunity came along and our centre forward executed the finish perfectly.

Phew that was close. Over the ninety minutes I think we deserved to win, but it is goals that count and Scotland grabbed a couple of good ones. But Harry saved our blushes and quietened the Scottish fans :StGeorge:

Both the Scottish free kicks were well taken, although I think Joe Hart has to accept a fair bit of responsibility, particularly for the first one, as he should have been more central in his goal. If he had, then I think he could have got across in time to save it.

England women are through to the quarter-finals of the Euro 2017 Championships having beaten Portugal 2-1 in the Netherlands. Nine points out of nine so top their group. :StGeorge:

In the same competition, Spain must have had a really difficult night tonight if you listen to this sound recording I made (on re-wind) of Tom Bradby's report on tonight's matches on ITV's 'News at Ten'.

The recording will play with Windows Media Player, and possibly others, by just clicking it and selecting 'Open' or 'Play'.

Congratulations to the GB Men's 4 x 100 metres relay team on winning the Gold medal in the World Championships tonight. A great run by them all.
It was a shame Usain Bolt had to pull up, a very sad thing to see on his final appearance.
Congratulations also to the women's 4 x 100 metres team on their silver and Mo Farrah on his silver in the 5,000 metres.

Well done to them, it was pleasing that the Championship finished on a high for the whole GB team after quite a disappointing World Championship for the athletes. But the team seem to be in transition with a lot of good youngsters coming through, so all may bode well for the future UK1

Under-17 World Cup semi-final: Brazil 1-3 England

A hat-trick from Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster sent England into Saturday's Under-17 World Cup final with a 3-1 win over Brazil.
Steve Cooper's side weathered Kolkata's 29C heat and humidity, plus sustained pressure from their opponents.
Brewster took his chances well and was assisted by the impressive Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden.
England will face Spain - who beat Mali 3-1 in Wednesday's other semi-final, with Abel Ruiz scoring twice.
The Young Lions will look to match their Under-20 counterparts, who won their World Cup in June.
