Latest post of the previous page:

All three 'major' opposition leaders have now resigned (as party leaders) - Miliband, Clegg & Farage, although the latter will still continue as an MEP.

I suppose once all the hullabaloo of the Election has subsided all we'll get on the news then for weeks on end is the selections for the three new leaders of those parties.

Sit back, have a large scotch (or whatever's your tipple) and just relax. You'll feel much better then, Mel. Image

I wonder what Ed Miliband will do with his stone epitaph ?

You forget, David Cameron gave his word as a gentleman and a scholar (as well as Prime Minister) that Lowestoft's 3rd crossing will be open for business by 2020. That is, not started, but actually complete and with traffic using it within 5 years. And Peter Aldous has put his support into a central crossing too.

Time will tell.....

It’s those aforementioned individuals who, it must be remembered suffer from a surfeit of verbosity - and will promise anything and everything to get our votes. And, once they’ve got ‘em they will do whatever suits them when they have to face reality.

It will be interesting to see what those three do next - form “The Comeback Kids”? They all look like Used Car salesman to me . . . e.g. especially Miliband and Farage - would you (“Honestly, Guv!”) buy any vehicle from them? Image

I think Milliband comes across as the only one with an ounce of integrity

I'm afraid I have to disagree there, FC. I watched him on the 'Three Leaders Question Time' program about a week before the election where he had about 30 minutes of the 90 being questioned by the audience and to me he seemed totally out of his depth compared to Cameron and Clegg. I think if Labour had had a different leader, possibly Ed Balls, the outcome may have been totally different. Milliband, to me, was the weak link in the party.

Out of the 3; Nick Clegg, Ed Milliband and Nigel Farage - I have to agree with FC. The one showing the most 'integrity' was Ed. He may have looked out of his depth previously, but that is completely different to showing integrity. Clegg has proven his level of integrity by previously promising the world, and then failing to live upto those promises. And Nigel? Well, frankly, I don't trust a word that comes out of his mouth, certainly I worry about the level of his integrity. After all, resigning as a leader, only to say he'll be back after the summer??!

Having said that, I do believe that a clean sweep is probably the best thing for politics in a long time. Perhaps now we will have a leader in the midst that shows 'proper' integrity, one we can believe in. And the next election in 5 years should be fun.... especially when we will most likely have Boris as the new Conservative leader!!

You have to remember that he was only 'second-in-command' and represented the minority part of the coalition and as the country was in such a state before the 2010 election, it's hardly surprising that not all 'promises' were able to be kept as the coalition endeavoured to repair the damage done by the previous government's 13 years of demolition.

BB I think the only reason Ed Milliband seems out of his depth is because he isn't the flanneller the others are. I do believe he tries to do what he feel is possible. while the others are full of the blarney. as they say. I think the fact that he didn't look so slick is exactly the point I was making the slickness comes about from speaking a load of old cobblers that they know the voters want to hear and believe in Its the old 'yes the car is a wonderful runner only has 10 miles on the clock ' syndrome
