Television Licenses

Post by boatbuilder » Sun Jul 05, 2015 7:49 pm

It would seem the funding of TV licenses is again in the news - in relation to the free licenses for over 75's.

However, one possible other change is that you might have to have a TV license to watch 'non-live' television, i.e. programs downloaded from the iPlayer website.

This is a quote from the linked article below:
Mr Osborne seems to be offering a deal, perhaps to be announced in the Budget: a commitment to change the law so that iPlayer viewers also have to pay the licence fee.
Do many people rely totally on 'catch-up' TV, I wonder?

It's not being abolished, SB. It's just about how it will be funded as I see it.

I m sure people will say they don't watch live shows when they do but it is cheating and can't see how anyone with a conscience can do it myself
Always be yourself because the people that matter don't mind, and the ones who mind, don't matter.
