Town looks forward to second weekend of busy heritage festival
After a fantastic first weekend of events and heritage on display, there is even more on offer on the Heritage Open Days festival’s second weekend.
More than 70 events and activities are on offer for keen history fans again this weekend, following on from the fantastic success of the first weekend.
There is an opportunity to see what is reputedly the oldest house in Lowestoft at 36, High Street. The townhouse, with shop, dates back to Tudor times and has one of the most impressive moulded ceilings in the country.
Visitors can also book onto a walk through 700 years of history, exploring the Beach village, historic buildings, and links with people from their past, wartime memories, fishing and maritime stories and more.
The walk, which requires pre-booking will leave Ness Point at 10am on Friday, September 14, and finish at St Margaret’s at noon.
