Old (and New) Lowestoft video clips on YouTube, Vimeo, etc.

I've seen quite a few videos concerning Lowestoft and surrounding areas and thought they might make an interesting topic. This one is from 'Seaside Memories' and is about Lowestoft seafront. There are other videos to watch on the site that may also be of interest.

I've cheated with this video as it is about Puckeridge and Standon, not Lowestoft. I live in Standon but the two villages have grown so much it's difficult to know where one starts and the other one finishes. Near the end of the video, where the man is mowing the grass, you can see down the road that I live in. Since then, 1963, the street has lengthened and the grass now has houses on it.

A more modern video this time, the 1960's. There might even be a few young MyLowesoft.com posters. :)

'This film explores how our ideas of seaside fun have evolved over the last two hundred years. Focussing on Lowestoft, UK, it looks at the changing styles of entertainment, work life, fashion and seafront architecture.
In this sequence, students from Warren School investigate the stories behind the image collection at Lowestoft Heritage Workshop Centre.'

Russell Walker, who supplies many of the images for 'Old Lowestoft in Pictures', also posted this video on Facebook.

Daily Mirror Speedboat Cup off Lowestoft on Monday 23rd September 1929. 5 of the 25 starters finish the race with JW Drummond's 'Gang Warily' winning at speeds at over 25 mph. Thanks to Russell walker for finding it on YouTube.
