You may already be aware of this but if not, this is what I discovered this evening.
When using the four options - View unanswered posts | View active topics | View unread posts | View new posts, if there is a small yellow icon alongside the name of the topics (indicated with a pink arrow in the image below), by clicking on the icon you will be taken to the first post in that topic that you haven't read. Very useful if you haven't been online for some time as you don't have to bother looking back to see what you last read.
