Changing to or from British Summer Time / DST on the forum.
THIS POST IS NO LONGER APPLICABLE. PLEASE SEE THE POST BELOW DATED 26TH MARCH 2017
As you are probably aware British Summer Time comes into effect at 0100 GMT on Sunday 30th March.
This quite often presents problems for some users on here as the time displayed on the forum after you are logged in and against any subsequent new posts made by you does not change automatically - you have to do it yourself with a setting in your 'User Control Panel'.
To enable the new setting enter 'Board Preferences' and ensure that the 'Yes' option in the appropriate setting, as shown in the image below, is selected and then click on the 'Submit' button underneath.
Please also remember to reverse this setting in the autumn by selecting the 'No' option when we revert back to GMT, which this year will be at 0200 BST on Sunday 26th October.
Any members who are not in the GMT (UTC) time zone should only make these changes whenever appropriate, if at all, in their time zones.

Don't forget that if you are affected by the change to British Summer Time which starts at 0100 GMT tomorrow you should change your setting in your user control panel tomorrow to ensure you display the correct time. Details are in the first post of this topic.

Just a reminder about the settings you may need to change (see the original post) when viewing this site after the clocks in the UK change to British Summer Time (BST) at 0100 GMT this Sunday 27th March. If you don't make the change the times shown on this site may display a different time from the actual time.
This is only applicable if your time zone is affected by this change.

Re: Changing to or from British Summer Time / DST on the forum.
If you are in a time zone that has now changed to Summertime (e.g. BST) /Daylight Saving Time (DST) then you will need to change your board settings to ensure that your posts display the correct time. Following the board's software update last year this is now carried out differently than indicated earlier in this topic.
You should go to your 'User Control Panel' and select 'Board Preferences'
On the page that opens you should click on the 'Suggestion' as indicated in the first image below then select your 'Time Zone' from the drop-down as indicated in the second image before clicking on the 'Submit' button.
A similar operation will have to be carried out later in the year when BST/DST end.

If you are in a time zone that is changing back from Summertime/Daylight Saving Time (e.g. BST) you should now reverse your board settings after the appropriate time when the change takes place, as indicated in the previous post, otherwise your posts will display the incorrect time.

Re: Changing to or from British Summer Time / DST on the forum.
Just a reminder that with the change to BST at 0100 GMT on Sunday (25th) when the clocks in the UK go forward one hour, you may need to change your board settings as detailed in previous posts to reflect the correct time in your posts. Of course if you are unaffected by this change in your time zone then this will not apply to you until such times as your time zone changes.
