As long as you're happy with it - that's all that matters! At least - Windows 8 is now just a memory!

Re: Windows 10 - MAIL

Post by boatbuilder » Sun Apr 24, 2016 5:58 pm

Just wondering if anybody else has this problem with Windows 10 Mail?

I am finding that despite them residing on the server in my BT webmail some pictures that are sent to me as attachments just won't download into Windows 10 Mail.

My daughter sent me a number of attachments over the past 24 hours and two pictures (out of about 25) in 7 emails just refuse to download and I have to log in to webmail to gain access to them.

I didn't download it - it is original software on the new laptop I bought before Christmas. As I said I'm not the only one on here using W10.

Re being thrown off, see my post in the chat topic.

I may have to bite the bullet and serum to the W10 brigade if and only if mind you things go the way I *dare say* hope.

I had trouble with Outlook and Hotmail on my Windows 8.1 and Windows Mail on my Windows 10 last week Boatbuilder. I couldn't receive or send any mail at all on either, checked on the Web and a lot of people were having trouble, so I left it for a while and within 48 hours everything was back to normal.

Thanks Mel. I just think it's poor quality-written software running W10 mail that needs resolving. The sooner it's sorted the better. Out of interest I will keep checking back on those emails to see if they will download them but the one sent last night still won't after 24 hours.

So out of those of you using Windows 10 what is you verdict? I'm still on 7 as I like it and it works fine for me still. Is there anything I'll get on 10 that I don't get on 7 except for MS support shortly.

Microsoft accused of Windows 10 upgrade 'nasty trick'

Microsoft has faced criticism for changing the pop-up box encouraging Windows users to upgrade to Windows 10.
Clicking the cross in the top-right hand corner of the pop-up box now agrees to a scheduled upgrade rather than rejecting it. This has caused confusion as clicking the cross typically closes a pop-up notification.
The upgrade could still be cancelled when the scheduled time for it to begin appeared, Microsoft said.

Don't forget, from July onwards Microsoft will be charging over £100 for Win 10 upgrades. So if you want it, you need to upgrade for free before July.

That is, unless you download the installation files onto a USB stick now; that way you can then install from USB without needing to download anything, in the future.

Microsoft has ruined my day, and possibly my life

I’m sitting at my computer, getting on with my work, when suddenly an unseen hand takes over. It stops my work and starts an update, which I can not stop, never asked for and do not want, from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Red alert! Where is my work? What the hell is happening to my computer?
