Latest post of the previous page:

I use Dashlane to store my passwords and it seems to work fine.

You just need to remember your master password.

I don't think there is anything that specialist about FB that can't be figured out with a minimum of knowledge of it so you'll just have to put your trust in how you relate the problem.

I know a bit about FB, running groups and pages and the like. If you are interested, I might be able to help.

I ve been on FB about 8 years so know my way round reasonably well I have started and run a few groups and use plenty of others including admin but at the weekend something strange happened with one of my closest 'friends/family' I suddenly couldn't see anything on their timeline since Saturday evening I just presumed they hadn't posted anything then I got a message saying 'I m surprised you haven't commented on our photo' Of course there was nothing for me to comment on as it wasn't there for me We have both checked that we haven't accidentally pressed the unfriend or unfollow button (they are both on) we have both checked our privacy settings they are normal set as we ve both always had them We have unfriended each other for 24 hours then requested and accepted but still nothing has changed Everyone else can see my stuff and I can see everyone else's
Any clues ?

A few possibles.
1. The photo itself may not be on the usual privacy settings. Most people just accept default, but you can create different 'groups' of friends. This allows you to share things with family but not friends, for example. Is it possible either you or her have these groups set up, but either you or your friend have been accidentally removed from their group, or else the photo wasn't shared with the normal group?
2. Facebook allows you to stop allowing someone else's timeline from showing - this is useful if you have someone who shares hundreds of things every day! This is viewable by going to that person's profile and checking on cover photo under the following: (a) hover over Friends, and make sure 'get notifications' is ticked, (b) next to that, make sure that 'following' is showing, alongside either default or see first.
3. Similar to above, but for the other person. Check under Settings, and then Timeline or Blocking. You can still be friends with each other but restricted from seeing their timeline.

Hope one of these helps!

Yes I know all those thing thanks .... as I said in the first post we have checked all settings none have changed and it's nothing to do with one photo it's the whole timeline and all photos since the weekend and yes as I said previously all normal things are ticked friends, following and notifications
We have both done ALL the checks you have mentioned and nothing has changed
Thanks for trying but it's none of those things unfortunately

FC, These are just a few suggestions that might give a pointer. Have you tried it on your computer as I know you tend to use your iPad these days? It might be something quirky happening with your iPad. Also, are you using an FB app on the iPad or the Safari browser? If the app, then maybe worth trying uninstalling and re-installing it.

Just to clarify, is this an issue with your news feed, or is it their actual timeline on their profile? If you go to their profile, can you see anything? If not, then it is likely something on their end. If you can items on their profile when you go to it, then it's a news feed issue.

It is also possible it may not be a Facebook issue, but some form of other block. Maybe a browser block? When you go to their profile, can you see anything at all, like a profile photo and cover image? If not, then perhaps the browser or ad blocker software have been activated for their specific web link.

Hi SL Dave everything is normal I can see their cover photo , profile photo and all posts and photos UP to Saturday teatime then nothing although they have posted and were expecting me to see the photos and postings after that time and asked why I hadn't commented on a picture that I was in There is a blockage of some kind happened tea time Saturday and no contact between us since We are both normal with others friends
I filled in the form for reporting a fault they mailed back asking for further details I gave them then a mail back saying unfortunately we don't deal with individual problems and look at FAQ what the hell good was that ?,
If anyone can solve this I ll be well impressed
