All I know is that half empty or half full doesn't matter. It just means there is room for more wine.

Got myself a new printer a Hewlett-Packard HP5532. The set up was quite straight forward, thought I might have a bit of trouble as it is Wi-Fi connected; apparently if I had a smart phone or an iPad I would be able to print straight from them (my wife has got an iPad but I am not going to tell her about that). It uses two ink cartridges a coloured and a black one and the printer came with two of each. Will use the proper inks until I work out how much they are going to cost me and maybe try others if it works out expensive. Just printed off a test picture and was very pleased with the result, so it is just a matter of wait and see how it performs.

Got it from Curry's at £79.99 and paid an extra £15 for a three year Instant Replacement insurance.

I'm sure you will be pleased with it Mel. I have an HP printer but haven't used it for several years since I bought my Kodak one. The quality of the printing is excellent but I found it a little heavy on the ink. The one I have is an A3 size and prints superb large prints. It also uses 3 ink cartridges which of course doesn't help the costs. It's not wi-fi but uses bluetooth. Just one point to consider - if you use non-HP inks it may invalidate your warranty and the extended one. It might be worth reading the small print on that.

Mel - there's a very good book on the subject . . . although the title may not be appropriate for you! It's: "iPad for the Older and Wiser" by Sean McManus

So . . . do tell . . . are you "older" or "wiser"?

PS I found it a very handy book to have . . . written in English . . . and not in "tekkie talk"!

I've never used an iPad although some of my family have them. I would imagine that as they run on the same OS as both the iPhone and iPod touch, of which I have both, they would be very similar to use, albeit just larger than those two.

I was very happy when the wife said she was getting an ipad
though now I'm not so sure I want one as I really do not have the need (as yet) but she did say I "would need it soon though" but for the life of me did not understand her (but then I probably never will)
It arrived today :boo:
