At last - you've spent some of your money!! At least you'll sleep better at night now! :D

The iPad is a very good device - and I enjoy using it. However, knowing what I know now - I wouldn't have bought an IPad as such. I should have researched the subject more - because I would have bought a similar product for less money. I think the Apple products, good as they are, are over-priced. And I never recommend them - merely advising to research the products before deciding. The "tablet" devices - or whatever they're called are, are all very similar.

Forgetting the laptop's I have for work there are several other units which I do own
1 medium powered laptop
1 high powered laptop
1 Ipod
1 Tablet (with network and wifi / BT) (great for books and games)
1 Android mobile (mine) 1 Android mobile (work) both same make and model though one white one black
(tried Iphone but kept making mistakes with it so work took it back)
1 Tom Tom (though with the maps on the phone and the tablet this is used less and less)

The tablet will also connect to my model plane camera so it is just great for that and the high powered laptop is fantastic for sorting out my model systems and settings or multi model operation through my radio transmitter.

as said on here somewhere "horses for courses."

Some more News.....

A flaw in cash machines that allows criminals to quickly steal wads of cash has been discovered.

Interpol has alerted countries in Europe, Latin America and Asia known to have been targeted - and is carrying out a widespread investigation.

Security firm Kaspersky Labs discovered the hack, which is enabled by entering a series of digits on the keypad.

Infected cash machines can be instructed to dispense 40 notes at once, without a credit or debit card.

Microsoft unveils Windows 10 system with Start Menu

Microsoft has disclosed the first details of Windows 10 - its next operating system (OS). The name is a surprise, bearing in mind it represents a jump from the last version - Windows 8. The software will run on a wide range of devices, from phones and tablets to PCs and Xbox games consoles, with applications sold from a single store.

It also marks the return of the Start Menu, which had been removed from Windows 8.

I saw the article when I was perusing the Beeb's news pages - and posted it for interest. I don't know what's posted earlier in this section - I had no valid reason to look.

I thought the last comment was unnecessary.

This could be interesting:

BBC's Genome Project offers radio and TV archive listings

The BBC has launched a test version of an online searchable catalogue of its TV and radio programme broadcasts.

The Genome Project is based on scans of Radio Times magazine listings published between 1923 and 2009. Searches bring up a synopsis, a cast list and an edit button.

It is designed to help the BBC identify programmes missing from its recorded archive and try to find copies of them.

A total of 4,423,654 programmes are included, from 4,469 issues.

I m looking forward to 10 as it supposed to go back to some of the more familiar ways of 7 and although I can find my way around 8 I still dislike it a lot

You'll be forced to use 10 if you get a new PC but those of us with PC's over 2 years old will not want to upgrade as it would mean buying a touch screen.

Regin, new computer spying bug, discovered by Symantec

A leading computer security company says it has discovered one of the most sophisticated pieces of malicious software ever seen.

Symantec says the bug, named Regin, was probably created by a government and has been used for six years against a range of targets around the world.

Once installed on a computer, it can do things like capture screenshots, steal passwords or recover deleted files.

Experts say computers in Russia, Saudi Arabia and Ireland have been hit most.
