Re: Coins
This a one of the coins in a collection of four £5 silver proof coins that has been released by the Royal Mint. The other three feature Tenby, Brighton and Blackpool. I won't be buying them myself but as it's local I thought I would post this.

Re: Coins
The latest addition to my collection is the just released 2018 BUC £5 'Lion of England' coin.
It was released on pre-order during the World Cup - no doubt in the belief/hope that England would win.

Re: Coins
The joint Royal Mint/Royal Mail first day cover, released to commemorate the RAF Centenary, includes four additional £2 coins featuring the Spitfire, Vulcan B2, Sea King helicopter and the Lightning II, issued to complement the one included in the original 2018 proof set which bears the RAF Coat of Arms. These are alongside six postage stamps - 2 x First Class, 2 x £1.40 and 2 x £1.57 - featuring various aircraft and franked 'The RAF Centenary - Cosford, Shifnal 17.9.2018' (Shropshire), home to one of the RAF Museums.

Re: Coins
I bought a couple of 'new' coin sets this last week, although not current issues.
The first is a proof set of the last issue of the pre-decimal '£sd' UK coinage of 1970.
The second is a seven-coin set issued to commemorate the 80th birthday of
Her Majesty The Queen Mother on 4th August 1980. These are all Crown coins in the
base metal Copper-Nickel from the UK and six other British dependencies with the
exception of one which is a $10 Silver coin of Tuvalu.
The 1970 set was a straight purchase at a very reasonable price from a source on eBay.
However, the other set I made a bid for from the same source in an eBay auction, the
first time I have ever used this method to buy anything and was pleasantly surprised
to be the winner at under £10, for which there were 12 bids in all.

Re: Coins
My 2019 UK proof set arrived this week. Here are images of some of the special commemorative coins in the set of which all the dates are within one week of each other during May, although different years.
