Astronomy

Post by boatbuilder » Tue Jun 19, 2018 11:32 pm

Yesterday I received an email sent to the admin address by a lady called Jenny who had seen some of the posts in our 'This Day in History' topic in January this year that referenced the Apollo 1 and Shuttle Challenger disasters of 1967 and 1986 respectively, and thought the following link to a web page she has written entitled The Ultimate Beginners Guide to Astronomy might be of some interest.

Having had an interest in the subject myself since a young age, and that's going back a bit, I decided to take a look at the link and was impressed by the content and layout and thought it might be of interest to others so have embedded the link to it in the previous paragraph.

Even if you have no real interest in astronomy, it does make for interesting reading, plus there are other activities linked to at the top of the page under 'Guides' written by both Jenny and others, which might be of interest.

Oh! and one other thing I noticed on there was, like this website, there are NO  ADVERTISEMENTS :D so why not take a peek!

My new telescope arrived today. A Celestron 8SE.

Haven't done much in the past but now, having retired, decided to get started again.

Hoping for clear skies tonight so I can get it set up properly.
I before E except after C - That's weird
