There are certainly some talented people on here. Speaking of which, has anybody heard from Suffolk Boy recently, he's not been on for a while? Hope he's OK.

Funky chick, lovely pencil sketch of the sea life collection, nice composition, and I love the drawing of the fish, it just shows, you don't have to have expensive equipment to make an interesting, picture.

Looking back at all the new paintings and drawings I'm green with envy. Some of the site's newest members, like Eddyo and SheilaO in this forum, are certainly a welcome addition to all the forums. Not forgetting some of the established members, such as kerch, Suffolkboy and funkychick, of course.

Re: From Our Easels
Please, please, never envy, our art, this is what we are interested in, and consequently practise, and (loosely) study. We are not particularly interested in fishing, gardening, carpentry, or a thousand other things...but we appreciate the skill in being able to do these things well. Painting a reasonable picture is no mystery, like anything else, it's practise, like anything else, you practise what you enjoy, or what you need to do to make a living, some of the really skillful artists, like Gainsborough, Hockney, Reniore, Constable or Micheal Angelo, (who was a true genius, and possibly was an Autistic Savant) spend most of their waking lives Painting, and studying Form. So if you really wanted to paint, if you can spend the time you could probably be much better than us.Dave wrote:Looking back at all the new paintings and drawings I'm green with envy.
