A little Gem

Post by Aussie K » Sat Sep 30, 2017 8:46 pm

It is with great sadness to tell you that my wife Joan passed away peacefully in her sleep at Britten Court on Tuesday 26th Sept after many long years of of illness, We had been Married for sixty eight years.
She went into full time care on Aug 14th then into Hospital Aug.18th for just over a week then back to Britten Court for the last three weeks of her life.
Her legacy may be her infectious smile and kindness to all who came to know this lovely woman, she will be sorely missed.

I'm so very sorry to hear of your sad loss, Aussie. What a wonderfully long married life you both had. From what you have told us in recent years, you have been a devoted husband to Joan looking after her in her failing years. Enid and I send you our sincere condolences at this very sad time. God Bless.

Aussie – I’m so sorry to learn your news – and thank you for your lovely words of the last sentence in your post.
I know only too well that mere words are of little comfort at this time but you will be in my thoughts.

I thank you all for your kind thoughts for me at the loss of my lovely wife she was indeed a little gem with an infectious smile. her funeral service was at the fisherman's Bethel this last Tuesday.
Joan had a send off that was befitting of her, my family of four children excelled in there admiration of there mother, dusty Millar. the conductor of the service, the cooperative funeral service, Bethany Lewis who sang songs and Grandson all made a joyess celebration of Joans life a lady who was so friendly to all.
I shall in five weeks time be going of to Australia for three months to recuperate and to start the new phase of my life.

Thank you Mell, very much, I shall be in a town called Bright.in Victoria I shall be staying with my daughter,
I is in the snowy mountain area and reputed to be by some the most sort after town in Australia to live.
I have been through the Alpine Way (snowy mountains) on a 33000 kilometre Tour circumventing Australia on a year long camper van Holiday/Change of life style but that was 50 k above Bright.
It will be different this time but I'm not complaining.
