Lowestoft and Surrounding Area.
The first image had the following information with it. 'An early 1900's traffic queue builds up as vehicles wait for Lowestoft bridge to open. Some things don't change!'
This image is of Triangle Market, I have no date for it, unfortunately.

Re: Lowestoft and Surrounding Area.
Long before my time here, Dave. However, great pictures. I can see current familiarities in the second image but not the first. But then, I never grew up here.

Re: Lowestoft and Surrounding Area.
'Anguish Street' is the first image, they don't make street names like that anymore. Next is the Yacht Club, accompanied with these words, 'Seen here before the First World War, the Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club building was opened in 1903, replacing a wooden pavilion from the 1880s. The club itself dates from 1859'.

I thought it was an old photo, boatbuilder, but comparing your photo it doesn't seem so.

Re: Lowestoft and Surrounding Area.
A photo of Whapload Road, taken in 1920.
'In the Suffolk coastal town of Lowestoft, the Electric Theatre opened on Monday 10th July 1911. It is thought it was built in premises that had been constructed in 1902.
By 1914 it had been re-named Coronet Cinema. The proprietor was William Robbins and there were 400 seats.
In March 1922 the cinema changed hands, and was now owned by Coronet Cinema (Lowestoft) Ltd., with the manager being E. Flanders. It now became the New Coronet Cinema, but faded from view soon afterwards, and presumably closed at the latest when sound films arrived.
More recently, the building has been in retail use as Chadd’s store. In 2004, the store was acquired by Palmers, but the Chadd’s name was not replaced until 2009.'
