1/ Ambulance Corps of the 5th Suffolk Regiment at Lowestoft Camp. 1912. Thanks to Russell Walker/Facebook.
2/ Young Fisherman of the Year at Lowestoft is Lee Reeves (left) with Gordon Claridge (centre), Chairman of Lowestoft Fishing Vessel Owners' Association and Peter Gouldby (right), Managing Director of Talisman Trawlers. I don't know the year, but I'll go for late 1980s at a guess. Thanks again to Russell Walker/Facebook.

Thanks, morty, Russell Walker's photos and information make up the majority of the posts I put on here. It's nice to give him something back in return.

Both photos and information come from Bob Johnson/Facebook. If anyone can add to the information it would be helpful.

Re: Lowestoft People.
Russell Walker/Facebook supplies us with a very famous face accompanied with a Lowestoft lad and Lowestoft's MP watched by some local people.
!/ This is a bit of blast from the past for me! Former Manchester United and England football legend Sir Bobby Charlton presents Rail Riders Club prizes in the 5-15-year-old category to winners Lowestoft's Gary Darby and a Norwich lad at York Railway Station on Wednesday 22nd May 1985. Gary lived at 6 Elm Coppice, off Ashburnham Way and at 208 Yarmouth Road, having gone to Elm Tree Primary, Elm Tree Middle and Kirkley High School. He was a regular of the 'Broadwaters Field crew'' (Rosedale Park) in the early-to-mid 1980s playing football and cricket. During 1984, Gary clocked up over 50,000 miles on trains in 1984 and I spent some of the miles with him.
2/ Jim Prior, Secretary of State for Employment and Lowestoft constituency MP, unveils a plaque to mark the opening of the Lowestoft inner harbour's deep-water channel in March 1981.

Re: Lowestoft People.
I was still living in Lowestoft in 1985 but have no memories of that visit at all.

Re: Lowestoft People.
Two photos from eBay taken in 1920. Mr & Mrs Bloom and Mr & Mrs Brown feature, both couples apparently from Lowestoft. Does anyone have an idea whereabouts in Lowestoft the photos were taken?

Re: Lowestoft People.
The first two photos are from eBay, the second one supplying some information as to what is going on. The third photo is from Bob Johnson/Facebook and is of the 'Eagle Tavern darts team 1969'.

They'd need a few lessons in Social Distancing if they were playing today, unless they were playing on Bournemouth Beach of course.boatbuilder wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 9:44 pmYou don't see pub darts teams dressed like that these days, Dave. (then, at the moment, you don't see any of them )

Re: Lowestoft People.
They’d still need the lesson as all those idiots on the beach do.
I’m social distancing In the summerhouse at the moment (from the cats who are playing in the garden) and the temperature is a nice comfortable 21C.
