I started trying to trace the source of Russell's videos and ended up finding quite a few others. I was hoping to find one about Robert Hook, lifeboatman, but have had no luck so far. :)

I came across this Wikipedia link about a fleet of minesweepers that were built at Richards. A bit off-topic for the 'video' topic, but interesting to see that they all still appear to be 'in service' with other uses elsewhere in the world......

This video is relatively modern compared to the previous ones. The information on YouTube is 'Eastern Coach Works factory in Lowestoft built bodies for buses until its closure in 1986', so the video must be mid-eighties or earlier. It is a video that some members might appear in, unlike the others.

'Lowestoft Carnival 1964', another fairly recent video. 'Some old family 8mm movie film' according to the information.

I have just merged eight posts that formed another similar topic in the 'History' board into this one. They are the first eight posts on Page 1.

Thanks yet again to Russell Walker for letting me raid his Facebook posts. Usually it's his photos I post in 'Old Lowestoft in Pictures', now it's his videos. This is a video called 'Frying Tonight' and below is more information from Russell.

Video clip 'Frying Tonight' (1960) on 16mm Kodachrome features over 6 mins of footage at Lowestoft Outer Harbour and Fish Market from 01.40 - 07.56. Duration is 8m 17s, no audio.

('Frying Tonight' is a documentary made by Betty and Cyril Ramsden, this film features Bryan’s Fish & Chip shop located in Headingley, Leeds. The film includes footage of the local shop and Lowestoft Harbour where the fish is processed before reaching the shop).
