If this is a nationwide plan it could be ill-conceived if you have to access the post office via WHS - the company has been on its last legs for years (except for the Travel section) so what would happen if it went bust and the shops closed?
It's grim up North...

It 'appears', according to these statements, that this is indeed the start of a move towards privatising the Post Office. Strike happening on Thursday 15th September!
