Lowestoft beach

The beach north of Claremont may be closed this summer they don't seem sure whether to start it, open it ,then finish it off in the autumn or do it straight through but miss the summer season
What's your take on it?

Re: Lowestoft beach
I guess that could depend on what sort of summer we have, FC. At the moment summer seems like it might not happen this year with the weather we have been having of late.funkychick wrote:http://www.lowestoftjournal.co.uk/news/ ... _1_3321366

We said that last year BB,then we had a super summer until it started to rain.I guess that could depend on what sort of summer we have, FC. At the moment summer seems like it might not happen this year with the weather we have been having of late.

Re: Lowestoft beach
To be honest Funkychick except for Air Show day that stretch of beach between the piers has been pretty deserted these last few years; with the stones and higher tides along that bit people have been using the beach south of the Claremont instead.funkychick wrote:The beach north of Claremont may be closed this summer they don't seem sure whether to start it, open it ,then finish it off in the autumn or do it straight through but miss the summer season

Re: Lowestoft beach
I agree Mel except that's the part that any visitors /day trippers see first
I think that WDC could use it as a feature, turn a negative into a positive, make that part between S pier and Hatfied an area for water sports build up the slope for canoes to go down and have plenty of notices for what each bay can be used for canoing / surfing/ pedelos what ever!! The life guard station is there to keep and eye on things then there should be a bright arty notice pointing to te sandy beach

I'm surprised it will take that long to repair the damage considering the damage at Dawlish is only going to take six weeks.
It's grim up North...

I cant visualise exactly where that is but I think people in the community or in business around the area should get together to do a clear up job
