Yes it is a village but the industrial estate was built within the Gisleham boundary that extends that far.

I have managed to find this map which shows the boundary of the parish of Gisleham which covers a large area and includes most of the industrial estate. The numbers in the diamond shapes refer to the locations of the parish churches.

So if we’re being pedantic it’s not South Lowestoft Industrial Estate but Gislehan Industrial Estate or GIE
Isn't Industrail Estate a horrible name for a shopping centre makes me think of wood piles or big iron girders piled up

But most of the units on the estate would be classed as industrial. I certainly would not think of it as a shopping centre.

Maybe when they have developed (and I emphasise the ‘when’) the old Zephyr Cams site, maybe they should rename it ‘South Lowestoft Industrial & Retail Park’. ...(SLIRP) :D

I prefer Gisleham Retail and Industrial Park, much easier to remember GRIP.

By the look of things it would seem that the old QD in the Britten Centre is to be a Sue Ryder charity shop.
