'Children's Corner with the lamented Royal Hotel and St. John's Church, South Lowestoft. c.1908' is another Russell Walker photo. So is 'Vintage Motorcycles, Underground Toilets, South Pier + Reading Room/Pavilion, Children's Corner at Lowestoft. 1910s, I think'.

Two of Russell Walkers photos, first is 'A lady plays Croquet next to an Edwardian Esplanade and South Beach at Lowestoft including Bathing Machines and the South Pier. Pre-WWI'. Second we have 'Fabulous Edwardian picture postcard of a brand-new Claremont Pier, Kirkley perhaps still nearing completion and a 'bare bones' South Beach well before Jubilee Parade. Photo was taken in August 1903'.

Russell Walker, by way of Facebook, supplies these next two, the first being 'South Beach & Bathing Wagons at Lowestoft with the Claremont Pier and a Belle Steamer,1905'. The next one isn't the greatest quality but shows 'South Pier, Lowestoft, at night. 1930s, I think'.

Russell Walker's collection of photos gives us the first image.
'The Low Lighthouse on North Beach, Lowestoft, with North Denes, Whapload Road, High Street and the High Lighthouse in the background. The lighthouse was made from a tubular steel construction and opened by 1867. It was demolished in October 1923. Photo is 1910s at a guess.'
