Freddie bounded into the room a short time ago chasing after this moth. It eventually settled down on the floor in a dark corner and I managed to get this picture using flash before eventually catching it and releasing it outside. Its wingspan was about 4 inches.
I think it is a Convolvulus Hawk-moth which is one of the largest European moths.

That is a pretty large moth...the details on the wings are amazing.

I have no idea why these birds appear to be nest building ,they should have migrated weeks ago .

From the garden a short time ago.
The bottle-brush plant has suddenly burst into flower this last couple of weeks. Very late compared with previous years. Perhaps it didn't like the hot summer.

The water drop looks so beautiful, it's just a water drop but on the pictures it's has a different look....it's just perfect.
