Any idea where I might be able to get locally a replacement for the aforementioned cable? Have tried Maplin but they're out of stock . . .

Think I'll visit my PC Man tomorrow - and see what he thinks!
PS I need a cable that's about 15 feet long - the short ones are not long enough!

Re: Computer & Internet Related Problems and Tips
I bought my 15 Metre cable from Amazon. It's currently £7.99 complete. It was £5.99 when I bought it in 2012.
You can get them up to 100 Metres long

Re: Computer & Internet Related Problems and Tips
I recently went online (Homepage = Google) and got a message that there’s “A problem with this website’s security certificate” - the site being, of course, Google! I did a quick search - and there’s a number of responses to this particular problem (Google Home Page) and how to “cure” it. Tried three of these - but it hasn’t cleared the problem. Does anyone know how to get rid of this, please?

Re: Computer & Internet Related Problems and Tips
As I haven't had the problem the answer has to be no, from me. However, just a couple of suggestions which might or might not work.
Have you tried viewing the site's (Google's) Security Certificate by clicking on the padlock in the address bar and following the links from there to see what it says?
Are you using Google as your standard home page when opening the browser? If so what browser are you using? If it is IE why not try Google's own (Chrome) and see if that makes a difference. Or maybe use a different home page such as this forum. Try a clean-up of the computer with CCleaner.

Re: Computer & Internet Related Problems and Tips
Thanks BB for the suggestions - but too difficult to try to explain. If you search under that “heading” - there are a number of responses - even ones with the problem Google Chrome!
I can ‘override’ this problem - but it’s there all the time and it’s just annoying. But, as said, it seems to be a big problem (when it strikes!) but - there doesn’t seem to be a simple solution. Methinks I’ll just have to change the browser!

Trigger, Have you tried to delete the home page address in your *internet options*
>Windows > control panel > internet options > delete the address in the box and type in Google.co.uk then > apply then clear ALL cookies and history and restart your browser.
If you have done all this then sorry for the long blurb, I think SWMBO had this issue but I tried to use FireFox and also other browsers on her laptop but "none" were to her taste so I reentered the home page to be Google and allowed IE and Chrome to have access again.

Re: Computer & Internet Related Problems and Tips
Thanks nikkai - tried that but to no avail! Frustrating thing is, the first time you open google home page - it opens without the Security notice, etc. Next time you do that, it's back to the notification . . . . aargh! So, have made an executive Decision (all by myself) and downloaded the Opera browser - then I can sing-a-long as I surf!!

Re: Computer & Internet Related Problems and Tips
The second time you open Google is it by the TAB or is it a fresh page?
If the TAB then you may have the additional stuff linked to the TAB address which you want to open.
